In Jamaica, cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer overall, and the second most common in women. Approximately 200 women die annually as a result of cervical cancer in Jamaica.

Understanding that cervical cancer represents a public health problem, the Jamaica Cancer Society sought to implement an awareness campaign to sensitize the public to the problem and the benefits of screening.
