Who ‘we’ are

While artofmarc is the design consultancy of Marc James, and 99% of the time he will be the person you talk to, no successful business runs on the power of one. Most consultants hide their collaborators, but at artofmarc, we celebrate the individuals that allow us to 'do more good'.

We are a group of artists, scientists, researchers, thinkers, and doers, who all have one thing in common. The belief that creativity has great power for change, and the resolve to apply our expertise to make a difference.

Lead consultant

Marc James is an award-winning art director and design consultant. A self-taught creative, he studied Geography at the University of the West Indies, where he completed his BSc. He began his professional journey as a web designer in 2006. Throughout his 18 year career as a creative professional, he has built deep expertise, working in various fields of design from traditional print, to animation and developing interactive experiences. Working in the advertising industry, he has served in several roles - from interaction designer to creative art director, providing art direction for global brands such as Red Bull, Nestle, Frito-Lay, DHL, Payless Shoesource, Kimberly Clark, and Unilever.

In addition to extensive advertising experience, Marc worked for 2 years with the INTASAVE-CARIBSAVE group, an international non-profit, providing art direction on climate change and sustainable development projects across the globe. Working independently, he has consulted for UNESCO, UN Human Rights Council, USAID, The Nature Conservancy, Caribbean Development Bank, and the University of the West Indies.

His work has had global impact, having crafted multiple identities and campaigns for leading organizations in international development and aid, seen across 5 continents and in over 7 languages.

Finally, Marc swapped his 9 to 5 job for a 24/7, dedicating his full time and effort to artofmarc. He now spends his days (and often nights) focused on creating impactful visuals for organizations that want to make a difference in the world.
