Jamaica, like other Small Island Developing States (SIDS), is among the least responsible for climate change, but will suffer the most from its adverse effects. The country’s sensitivity to climate change is evident in the high susceptibility to more intense hurricanes, rainfall, drought, and other hazards, made worse by our small size as well as fragile economies and ecosystems.
An understanding of climate change and its impacts is important to strengthening our adaptation response.
