The Caribbean Fish Sanctuary Partnership Initiative (C-FISH) Project

The Caribbean Fish Sanctuary Partnership Initiative (C-FISH) is a project aimed at strengthening community-based fish sanctuaries by providing resources, training, and alternative livelihood opportunities in four (4) countries across the Caribbean (Grenada, Jamaica , Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines).

A fish sanctuary (legally called Special Fishery Conservation Area in Jamaica) is a marine area where fishing is not allowed so that fish have a chance to grow and repopulate surrounding areas. The marine habitats in the area are breeding grounds and nurseries for many species of fish, lobsters, turtles and other marine animals. Fish sanctuaries help support sustainable fisheries and local livelihoods.

Designed posters for awareness around the sanctuaries, and signage for the Galleon Fish Sanctuary in St. Elizabeth and the Bluefields Bay Fish Sanctuary in Westmoreland.
